Ancaster Mill: A Historical Gem
Our journey began at the Ancaster Mill, a historic 200-year-old flour mill nestled in a scenic setting. Stepping inside feels like stepping back in time, with its preserved stone mill and rich history. The restaurant, which opened its doors in 1979, now doubles as a remarkable events venue.
We indulged in a sumptuous Sunday brunch at Ancaster Mill. Despite dietary restrictions, the gluten-free options were plentiful, and we savored dishes like oysters, calamari, and octopus salad. The mimosa flow was generous, complementing the flavorful spread perfectly. The grounds are not just pleasing to the palate but also a treat for the eyes—ideal for capturing memorable moments with the perfect backdrop for cherished memories and Instagram-worthy snapshots.
Attending a wedding here was a highlight. The chapel exudes timeless elegance, enhanced by an impressive speaker system that gave the illusion of live piano music. Post-ceremony, the cocktail hour amid picturesque surroundings was enchanting. As the celebration moved indoors, the dance floor lit up with joyful revelry until the late hours.

Staying at The Barracks Inn
For accommodations, we opted for The Barracks Inn, a century-old stone building housing beautifully appointed suites. The proximity to Ancaster Mill made it an ideal base, and the charming ambiance added to the wedding festivities. The availability of robes, slippers, and Netflix ensured a cozy stay.
Hotels in Hamilton: A Comfortable Retreat
During our visit, we also experienced the hospitality of Hamilton's hotels. The Hampton Inn by Hilton Hamilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton Hamilton offered comfortable stays and easy access to local attractions. Notably, Radius on Hess proved to be a must-visit dining spot, offering an eclectic blend of flavors.

Radius on Hess: Brunch and Beyond
Our visit to Radius on Hess left a lasting impression. The vibrant atmosphere, highlighted by a tableside mimosa and macaron bar, set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The gluten-free and vegan options, including a decadent chocolate cake, catered to diverse palates. This gem is beckoning us to return for more culinary adventures.
Exploring the Culinary Scene
Hamilton's culinary scene surprised us with its variety. From sweet to savory and traditional to innovative, every dish at Radius on Hess was a celebration of flavors. The cozy ambience beckons for a return visit, promising more culinary delights.
